Second Generation Renault Koleos 2016 – Current
Unveiled to the world at the 2016 Beijing Motor Show, the Second Generation Renault Koleos is built on the Common Module Family, or CMF-CD for short, modular platform which was developed jointly by both Renault and Nissan and is also used for the Renault Kadjar in countries where this vehicle is sold. This second-generation Koleos has been awarded a five-star safety rating by Euro NCAP thanks to its impressive safety features which include: ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) + EBA (Emergency Brake Assist) Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with Hill Start Assist Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) Drive, front passenger & curtain airbags Isofix 3-point seat attachment system There are three trim levels available; the DYNAMIQUE 4×2 and 4×4 derivatives released with the 2nd generation’s initial launch and the INTENS 4×2, added in 2023. Did You Know? Before it was launched this Renault SUV rumoured to have been named the Maxthon, the Renault design team however opted to reinstate the respected Koleos vehicle name and the next generation of legendary Renault SUV was launched.

First Generation Renault Koleos 2006 – 2012
This Generation Renault Koleos was one of the first Renault SUVs to be sold in South Africa. It was originally unveiled as a concept car as far back as the year 2000. It’s primary sales markets were India and South Korea, with a limited sales launch here in South Africa. It was discontinued as part of the New Renault vehicle Range in South Africa during the course of the year 2012. A facelifted vehicle was briefly sold for one year between 2011 and 2012. Did You Know? Regarded as an exceptionally safe vehicle, Germany’s ADAC (Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club e.V.) awarded it five stars for safety in a crash test done in August 2008.
